Lu Houmin: Photo Contest Should Spread Out of Weihai to Spread Beauty

Referred to Lu Houmin, many photographers will have such a title in their minds: "red photographer." Because of his long-time photographic work and the professional photographer of Mao Ze from 1961 to 1964, Lu Hongmin, 82, is a literary artist with a profound background in photography. As a guest judge of the National Weihai Photography Competition, a new perspective on the "Lanwan Yiting", on January 2, Lu Houmin accepted an exclusive interview with this reporter and introduced his "red photographer" experience. The new Weihai National Photo Contest was evaluated by the New Vision and New Vision of the Blue Bay Resort.

Mao Mao never limits me to take pictures

Born in 1928 in Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province, Lu Houmin is a man who has a persistent pursuit. In 1948, at a primary school he resolutely resigned, "thinking about the rest of the world." At that time, coincided with the recruitment of young workers from the Northeast Film Studio to the county, Lu Houmin went to the exam with his classmates and the results were accepted. That is, from then on, he began his photography career.

After several changes, in the spring of 1950, Lv Houmin was transferred from the Photographic Section of the Beijing Film Studio to Zhongnanhai, and together with several colleagues, took some photos of his life and work for the state leaders. “When I first got close to the leaders of Mao Zedong and Other countries, I was so nervous that I couldn't secure the camera. Later, I found that the leaders of these countries were unrestricted and very harmonious.” Lu Houmin said that he worked for Mao Yan for 12 years. He never saw him fire once, and Mao Zedong was very sympathetic to the staff around him. Whether he was at work or with his family, as long as Lu Houmin raised his camera, Mao Zemin never directed or restricted him from taking photographs. For Lv Houmin's occasional "design" scene, Mao is also pleased to cooperate.

It is because Mao Zedong fully understands and supports Lu Houmin's work that we have the opportunity to learn more about his friendly image through Mao Zeyou's tour of the Yangtze River, playing table tennis and other extremely lived photos.
The lens is used to express emotions

In more than 10 years of shooting career, Lu Houmin captured numerous wonderful moments.

In 1953, after the 24th meeting of the Central People's Government Committee was closed, the participants left the field one after another. Lu Houmin was still observing the scene carefully. Suddenly, when he saw Premier Zhou with his documentary strides toward Chairman Mao, he stepped up to the rostrum and took a classic picture of Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai.

Lv Houmin's photograph "Farewell to Volunteers Returning to China" during the Korean War period was also very classic. He won the silver medal in photography in Germany, the gold medal in the Soviet International Photographic Art Exhibition, and the first prize in the Cuban International Photographic Art Exhibition. "Duck" was awarded the first prize of the Belgian Royal Photographic Society.

As an old photographer, Lu Houmin believes that engaging in photography is not a matter of playing with light and shadow, nor is it arty, but conveys emotions through the lens and arouses everyone's attention to the incident. He said that as a responsible photographer, he should use the characteristics of photography and documentary, and reproduce his life in a simple way, so that the screen has a distinctive branding and life atmosphere.

Photo contest should go out to spread the beauty of Weihai

“Photography is the most intuitive and effective means of recording and presenting things. The holding of this photo contest is not only the use of the lens to record the beauty of the new Weihai city. The more important significance is that by hosting this event, a nationwide The whole world knows the bridge of Weihai.” On January 2nd, after participating in the selection of the National Photography Competition for the New Weihai, a new perspective of the Blue Bay Yiting, Lu Houmin spoke highly of this photography contest.

Urban greening and landscape design were far less beautiful than the present.” This time again came to Weihai and saw a beautiful beachfront and a seat. With unique urban architecture, Lu Houmin can not help but sigh that Weihai's urban appearance has undergone earth-shaking changes.

The experience of many cities exhibiting shows that the photography contest has a tremendous boost and role in the development of the city’s image and tourism industry.” Lu Houmin also invited the Organizing Committee to bring some of his photography to Beijing.

On the same day, after the end of the morning's selection work, Lu Houmin eagerly wrote "Wish a happy new year to the readers of the Weihai Daily" and "Weihai Evening News" wishing the beautiful Weihai better tomorrow! Readers and the city's heartfelt wishes.
